Shout Out To My Ex Textual Analysis
Evidence of Andrew Goodwins theories are portrayed in Little Mix's Shout Out to My Ex music video, one of these is when the lyrics say 'I'm over it'. At this moment in time in the music video Jade holds a gun which says 'over it' under neath it. This was used to relate the music video to the lyrics, this was made with the use of camera as the camera has the focus on the gun in the middle and Jade to the right of the shot. This is also evident when Perrie says ' Yeah yeah, that hurt me, I'll admit '. In the music video she illustrates crying which usually happens when someone is hurt or upset. The way she does it shows how she doesn't care anymore and that she's over it. This then portrays the overall message of the music video/song. Although this part of the music video illustrates the lyrics, it also amplifies them as she shows her emotion and overall sense of the song.
